"And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, and stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

I've always admired the passage for a few reasons. We KNOW she was a sinner because Luke mentioned it twice (vs. 37 & 39), and so did Jesus (vs. 47 & 48). How appropriate that a sinner with so many sins would wait to demonstrate her undeniable love for Jesus at the home of someone who could not bring themselves to such humility or love. Love is not something merely stated but demonstrated. By faith, she demonstrated how much she loved Jesus. Did she love Him so boldly because she knew her sins were forgiven?
