FOR CHRISTMAS MORNING


EASY CHEESE DANISH

My dears, there is still time to run to the store for the items needed for this scrumptious-dilliumptous recipe!  It could even become a tradition in your family--think of it, the smells of  this wonderful Danish baking and wafting through the house as everyone rises to greet the great day of celebration.

2 cans ready-to-use refrigerated CRESCENT ROLLS
2 8-ounce packages CREAM CHEESE
1 cup SUGAR
1 tsp VANILLA EXTRACT
1 EGG
1 EGG WHITE

Glaze:
1/2 cup POWDERED SUGAR
2 Tbsp MILK
1/2 tsp VANILLA EXTRACT

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 13x9-inch baking pan.  Lay a pack of crescent rolls in the pan and pinch the openings together.  Beat the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg together until smooth.  Spread the mixture over the crescent rolls evenly and then lay the second pack of crescent rolls on top of the cheese mixture and brush with egg white.  Bake 35-45 minutes until the top is golden brown.  Top with glaze after cooling for 20 minutes.


Easy-peasy!


Thought:  This might also be a good recipe for a little person in your home to help with or, depending on their size, to do solo.  Very nice with fresh fruit and a nice steaming cup of hot chocolate as found in previous post.

Done! Wee Jacob and I prepared this for our late but fun Christmas with my daughter and family! I wish you could have seen his face when I said "now we get to paint on it!". He laughed and said "no-o-o-o-." So I had to show him and of course he was immediately on board. Very yummy recipe, easy and oh so fun with a sweet boy like Jacob. Thanks Michele! Love you-Loretta
